Free Bradley Manning Half-Marathon

Start at Paradise Valley Town Hall (Lincoln Dr. and Invergordon/64th St.)
This is a free fun run. No sponsor. No registration. Bring your own water. Course is over Camelback Mountain, Cholla Trail to Summit Trail, up Tatum to Phx Mountains Preserve (to the 2nd Christiansen Trail marker post where suburbia disappears), E. on Doubletree Ranch Rd. to Invergordon and back to PV Town Hall. Radical Reading Group

This month we will continue our informal reading group, focusing on “Our Enemies in Blue” by Kristian Williams. A free copy of the book can be found at zinelibrary.info We will be specifically focusing on the chapters dealing with the role of police unions and the historical response of the police during workers rebellions. Kristian is planning to be available for discussion for a short period via conference call. The group is free and open to all, and we encourage new interested people to join.

Spanish Study Group

Let's learn some Spanish together, already! Bring Spanish dictionaries, things to translate, or any other Spanish learning supplies you might have. I have a few notebooks and pens to share, but if you have some, bring 'em! All ages and skill levels are welcome! Fluent speakers who are interested in sharing their brains are always invited. Coffee, tea, and comfy couches are available. We can't tear down physical borders without bridging the invisible ones that divide our communities!

Zine Workshop

Ever wanted to produce and publish a zine? Come to this workshop to learn from and work with other zine makers and start to create your own zine. Plenty of materials will be on hand, but we suggest bringing anything you'd like to use to create your zine. Suggested materials : a computer or a typewriter, pens. paper, art supplies, rubber stamps, craft materials, magazines or pictures to cut up, and any source materials. This will be a working group, so having writing already prepared is highly suggested. Imagination required, possibilities are endless! For examples of zines, go to zinelibrary.info
